Known for his ability to simplify complex financial concepts, Deryk is passionate about demystifying the planning process and empowering clients to achieve their financial dreams.

Driven by a lifelong passion for investing and a keen fascination with the stock market that began in his high school years, Deryk decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in international economics from San Diego State University. Before joining the team at Safeguard, he held diverse roles including as a licensed banker, gym owner, project estimator and retail manager. He also owned his own financial advisory firm before joining forces with Safeguard.

Deryk holds life and health insurance licenses, he has passed the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities exams and also holds the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMATM) designation. He specializes in financial planning for business owners and high net worth individuals. Being a former business owner gives Deryk unique insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with succession planning and risk management.

Outside of the office, his hobbies and interests include DJing, producing music, engaging in CrossFit workouts and traveling the world with his wife, Ashley. They also love spending time with their beloved Blue Nose Pit Bull, Tyson.
